Having collegues that go to RIPE meetings, sure has its advantages. Besides learning a bit more of the operations of one of worlds largest Internet Resource Allocators, they get to bring home some ‘goodies’, including useful IPv4 and IPv6 network charts. My guess is the IPv6 chart will be used quite often, in the not-so-distant-future …

It came in a handy pocket-format for me, but I guess you could just print it out or save the image yourself. It’s also nice to see the enormous amount of extra IP addresses that IPv6 will produce!

Where IPv4 could provide 232 addresses, IPv6 can provide up to 2128 addresses!

In other words, IPv4 can handle 4 294 967 296 IP addresses due to its 32bit nature, and IPv6 can handle up 340 282 366 920 938 463 463 374 607 431 768 211 456 IP addresses (that’s not a typo, there are actually that many IPs available).
