Networks evolve every couple of years. The internet is no different. We’ve gone from having mainframes to shifting towards a system that distributes load on commodity hardware on premise to “the cloud". In a couple of years, there’ll be something new.
And whatever it is that’ll win the race, it’ll be something distributed.
Just this week alone, a couple of interested links to share:
- Bitcoin-NG: A Secure, Faster, Better Blockchain
- A peer-to-peer discussion system
- IPFS, the distributed web
- Blockcast: a protocol for storing arbitrary data in a blockchain
The internet is moving forward – and it’s time to get on board.
The blockchain, once a term used only by nerds in an attempt to make some money out of bitcoin, is proving itself more and more useful in all kinds of fields.
