Shownotes for episode 6.5, published Wednesday, 23 Oct 2016
I wish I didn’t have to bring this message, but I’m fairly certain you already noticed it: there hasn’t been a new SysCast podcast in a while.
I’m taking a bit of a break to organise things, prepare better and overall bring a better show. But that takes time, and time is something I don’t have at the moment.
The plan is to bring SysCast back in a few months. In the meantime, don’t unsubscribe just yet, keep the RSS feed going. In a few months, I hope to be back – full force.
Meanwhile, if you’re craving more open source or linux news, have a look at the weekly newsletter called cron.weekly
!
Hi there, this is Mattias Geniar from Syscast. You’re listening to a new episode, which isn’t really an episode. I’ve decided to take a bit of a break with the podcast. I really like doing it, but it is really time intensive: preparing for a show, doing the recording, scheduling with guests, then editing the recording. It all takes a lot of time. And while I like doing it, there has to be time to dedicate to it, which at the moment there isn’t.

So while I get things on track again, while I keep preparing for the show, there won’t be any new episodes just yet. But what I’d like to ask you is: don’t delete this podcast from your app just yet. Keep the RSS feed, keep subscribing, and hopefully in this and a couple of months you should see the new first episode arrive. It is absolutely my intention to get back in the game, but for personal reasons, now is really not a good time. So I hope to be talking to you really soon.

In the meantime, if you’d like to keep up with Linux and open source, you can still subscribe to my open source newsletter, cron.weekly. It’s over at cronweekly.com, because that is still a thing I keep maintaining every week, which is also intensive, but I like doing it. But that stays, and the podcast goes on pause for a while. So, without further ado, this is the end of Syscast. Let’s call it Season 1, and I hope to see you back for Season 2. Take care, bye-bye.
